Vietnamese Women's Day, October 20th, marks the first time in our country's history that a mass organization of women was legally and openly organized, aiming to unite and mobilize women to actively contribute to the revolutionary cause of the nation.
This was also the first time Vietnamese women were able to cast their votes, participate in government and social affairs, and hold many important responsibilities in the state apparatus and mass organizations.
Over 90 years, the Vietnam Women's Union has grown stronger, and patriotic Vietnamese women have become increasingly knowledgeable, healthy, dynamic, creative, cultured, compassionate, and concerned about the interests of society and the community.
Throughout the many ups and downs of society, women have always demonstrated their active and responsible roles, contributing significantly to the cause of national liberation and independence.
October 20th each year is chosen as Vietnamese Women's Day, a recognition by the nation of the women whom President Ho Chi Minh honored with eight golden words: "Heroic, Indomitable, Loyal, and Capable."
