LATE WINTER IN CA LO – A CHARITY JOURNEY CARRYING RESPONSIBILITY AND FAITH
As the final days of the old year draw to a close, production and business plans are completed, and urban life begins to bustle with preparations for Tet (Lunar New Year), the staff and employees of Ngan Luc Investment and Development Joint Stock Company embark on a familiar journey – a charitable journey to the highlands and border regions of the country.
This is an annual activity of the Company, initiated by the trade union, and maintained for many years as a beautiful aspect of corporate culture: after a year of hard work and dedication, Ngan Luc wishes to "share food and clothing," sharing a portion of its achievements with communities facing many difficulties, while also giving each employee the opportunity to better understand their country and its people, along very different paths.

Ca Lo, Khanh Xuan commune, Cao Bang province
This trip took the delegation to Ca Lo village, Khanh Xuan commune, Cao Bang province – a remote, impoverished border village. The delegation consisted of 22 members, including representatives from the Party Committee, the Company's leadership, the Trade Union Executive Committee, the Youth Union, and the workers.
From Hanoi to Bao Lac commune and then further into the high-altitude communes, the delegation had to navigate long stretches of road, many sections under construction, slippery, and treacherous. The journey from the center of Khanh Xuan commune to Ca Lo village was a real challenge: without GPS navigation, the dirt road was steep, with many dangerous curves; in some sections, the car couldn't proceed, forcing the entire delegation to walk many kilometers along the treacherous path to transport the gifts.

The entire group had to walk many kilometers along a treacherous road.
The guide for the delegation was Mr. Chuong, Secretary of the Youth Union of Khanh Xuan commune – a young official, knowledgeable about the area, and deeply attached to his homeland. His dedication, responsibility, and community spirit are typical of the young people in the border region who are contributing daily to preserving and building their homeland.
A village with many infrastructure gaps
The Ca Lo village currently has only 34 households, mainly Dao ethnic people. The mountainous terrain makes agricultural production very difficult; rice cannot be grown, and people mainly rely on corn and potatoes; their lives still depend heavily on government support.
In particular, the village lacks the national power grid, telephone signal, and a stable water supply; people mainly rely on rainwater. Healthcare is limited due to the long distance and difficult transportation.
Amidst these conditions, the Ca Lo school still resounds with the sounds of children reading their lessons every day. More than 40 preschool and elementary school children study together at the school. The teachers have to live and study at the school in remote villages all week, only returning home once a week on weekends, then bringing food and supplies back to take care of the students.

The gifts were chosen with care
Wishing to bring the children a warmer and more fulfilling Lunar New Year, Ngan Luc's volunteer team prepared gifts for over 40 children at the school.
What's special is that each gift was carefully selected by the union members of the company: from warm jackets, trousers, boots, hats, milk cartons, candy packages, to age-appropriate books, coloring books, toys, and modeling clay – all ensuring good quality, safety, and long-lasting use.

The gifts were chosen with care
Besides gifts for each child, the delegation also donated industrial gas stoves and gas cylinders, contributing to improving the school's lunch program in a location without electricity.
When the gifts were handed out, what resonated most deeply was not only the children's joy, but also their politeness, their clear eyes, and their innocent smiles – children who grew up in hardship but still retained their precious innocence.

More than just a charity trip
Leaving Ca Lo, on the walk back to the parking area, the conversation among the group shifted from work plans or personal goals to very real concerns: about infrastructure in the highlands, about electricity, water, and healthcare; about how the road under construction would change the villages in the future; and about the children growing up in the border region.
The trip not only brought joy to the recipients but also provided strong motivation for the entire Ngân Lực workforce. Witnessing firsthand the difficult lives of the people in the border region, each member of the group appreciated what they had even more, became more aware of their social responsibility, and strengthened their resolve to work harder and contribute more in the new year – to the company, to the community, and to the country.

A child's eyes hold a wealth of hope for a bright future
The end of winter in Ca Lo has come to an end, but the images, emotions, and thoughts that the trip brought will stay with us for a long time. These are the enduring values that Ngan Luc always strives for on its development journey: business linked to social responsibility, success linked to sharing, and development alongside the country in every way.
